Island Hopping Itinerary at Guimaras Island

Island Hopping Itinerary at Guimaras Island

When you think of Guimaras Island in the Philippines, what do you think of?

Honestly, I had no idea about Guimaras before. I knew there is a Guimaras Island and I know it’s on the Visayas, but I didn’t know what they can offer to the tourists. When I told my mom, I’m going to Guimaras she said I should bring home mangos, lots of them. That’s the time I knew Guimaras is the center of sweet mangoes. That’s all I know!

I researched for an island hopping travel and tour based in Guimaras Island. Thankfully, there is Guimaras Island – Yeshua Travel & Tour. Traveling via travel and tours is helpful for first-time travelers and if you don’t know where to tour around. Here are some reasons why I like travel & tour agencies when some people don’t want them:

👍 Convenient – I don’t have to research and be stressful about planning my trip because different itineraries are already offered to you. You just have to choose what itinerary you’ll avail.

👍 Feeling like a VIP – I don’t have to go through long lines just to buy tickets or entrance passes. I have more time to explore because I saved time from not lining up.

👍 There are freebies — souvenirs & snacks.

👍 Tour guides – some don’t want tour guides, but personally, I like them because they explain historical events and backstories of the place. I learn a lot more than I expected.

👍 You can make your trip exclusive! Some travelers want to avail group tours and be spontaneous, meet new people. But if I can request to make it exclusive as much as possible, I’d do it. I selfishly enjoy the tour and it’s less stressful for me.

How I Get To Guimaras Island

✈️ From Davao City, I flew to Iloilo via Cebu Pacific because it’s the online Philippine airline who flies directly to Iloilo from Davao.

🚘 From Robinson Place Iloilo, we road taxi to Ortiz Wharf for only 60 PHP. It’s the Iloilo-Guimaras port and where to pay the boat fee.

🚤 Boat trip from Iloilo to Jordan Wharf and pay the tourism fee. When I got to the island, I immediately felt the chill, province vibe, and the no-signal-for-Globe scenario. I knew I’ll enjoy this trip because my no-signal-phone lets me focus on my trip.

🚘 Road trip to Raymen Beach where we’ll start our island hopping! Yeshua Travel & Tours have private transportation that’ll take you to the beach resort. If you choose their Guimaras land travel tour, you’ll be able to utilize the private transportation you paid for.

🚤 Island Hopping starts! In Yeshua Travel & Tours, here are the islands that we’re supposed to tour:

🏝Puyo Wharf 🏝Ave Maria Islet 🏝Cliff Diving Site (Optional) 🏝Baras Cave 🏝Fairy Castle Islet (Sightseeing) 🏝Natago Beach 🏝Alobijod Cove 🏝

But unfortunately, we weren’t able to tour around all of them because there is it’s the season where the “fishes lay their eggs” so it’s forbidden to disturb them. That’s what the tour guide said.

We only went to Natago Beach…

Swam towards to Basa Cave where we can hear bats and we felt like some shokoy’s gonna pull us down…

Ave Maria Islets…

And to the Floating Restaurant in the middle of the ocean near Raymen Beach… I loved their buttered shrimp, kinilaw, and grilled pork, by the way.

Guimaras Island has so much to offer aside from their Island Hopping trip. Yeshua Travel & Tours also has different tours: Island Land Tour or Island Hopping tour.

Clearly we took the Island Hopping trip, but I wish I stayed more days to explore the island.

We finished the island hopping early, so we had more time to eat at their famous Trappist Monastery Cafe. Check out my next post!
